This section contains graphs documenting GRC's growth and changing demographics of attendees.
Data were compiled from participant lists and programs dating back to the early 1930s. To see
additional information and read our analysis of the data presented here, please refer to the
history section of this site.
1. This graph shows the total number of attendees each year since 1941 (participant lists prior to
1941 are too incomplete to give valid data).
2. This graph shows the total number of week-long Gordon Conferences held each
year since 1931.
3. This graph shows the increase in Gordon Conference attendees from outside the
United States since 1941.
4. This graph shows the increase in female attendees at Gordon Conferences, with
especially notable growth since 1980.
5. This graph shows the changing demographics of attendees from industry, academia, and
government labs since 1941. Note the crossing of the percentages from academia and industry in
the mid-1960s.
